Bicipital Tendinitis

Bicipital tendinitis is inflammation of the long head of the biceps tendon along the bicipital groove. Common in athletes and manual workers.

⚠ Most common symptoms

  • Pain in the anterior shoulder radiating towards the biceps
  • Tenderness over the bicipital groove
  • Pain when flexing the elbow against resistance

🩹 Treatment

  • Physiotherapy, NSAIDs, local injections
  • Surgery (tenotomy or biceps tenodesis) in chronic cases

✅ Prognosis

  • Very good with appropriate treatment.
