A SLAP lesion is a tear of the superior labrum of the shoulder where the long head of the biceps attaches. Common in throwing athletes and after arm-extended falls.
⚠ Most common symptoms
- Deep shoulder pain, especially when raising the arm
- Clicking sensation or internal instability
- Decreased athletic performance
🩹 Treatment
- Conservative: rest, physiotherapy, anti-inflammatories
- Arthroscopic surgery if symptoms persist: labral repair or biceps tenodesis
✅ Prognosis
- Good when correctly diagnosed and treated.
